A Very Large Solar Prominence
This large quiescent solar prominence was visible on the southwest solar limb on 18 jan 2011. it shows downward motion of plasma.
here are a few quick facts about solar prominences gleaned from the nature of solar prominences by tandberg-hanssen. a prominence can be defined as “an object in the chromosphere or corona that is denser and cooler than its surroundings.” this hot plasma ranges from 5000-8000 degrees K in quiescent proms, and it is surround by the 1 to 2 million degree corona. plasma can move a few kilometers a second in quescent proms, to several hundred kilometers per second in surges and active prominences.
This is the best time lapse video i have ever seen of downward H Plasma movement! Could you give me details on what equipment you used and software processing done to achive this video.
